Laverne Cox Steps Down as E! Red Carpet Host Ahead of Golden Globes: ‘What an Incredible Privilege It Has Been’


Laverne Cox has stepped down as the host of E!'s 'Live From the Red Carpet' ahead of the 2025 Golden Globes.

“These moments are a reminder to me of what an incredible privilege it has been to talk to some of the world’s greatest artists about their work, navigating the pressures of success, etc.,” Cox wrote. Cox, whose acting credits also include “Promising Young Woman,” “Uglies” and “Musical Chairs,” took over as host of E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet” in January 2022, replacing Giuliana Rancic. will be on the carpet for Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony with “Access Hollywood” correspondent Zuri Hall and comedian Heather McMahan taking over hosting duties.
