News, Scott Patterson, who played the cranky yet lovable Luke on Gilmore Girls, explained why he felt a spinoff wouldn’t work. Graham went on to work out some foreseeable issues with creating that spinoff idea, saying, “Then you have the problem of you got to cast young Babette and younger Miss Patty, so I don’t know.” It followed the heartwarming adventures of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory (played by Alexis Bledel), living in the idyllic town of Stars Hollow.
