In the shock interview, the former TOWIE star, 37, made a number of heartbreaking comments to dating guru Paul C Brunson on his We Need to Talk podcast, telling him how aspects of their break-up 12 years ago “broke” her, and left her thinking she was “never going to love anyone else” Lauren’s experienced a number of traumas since her original TOWIE days, including the death of her ex boyfriend Jake McLean, who died in a car smash in Turkey in summer 2022. And according to psychologist Stefan Walters, who specialises in trauma and Brainspotting therapy, it’s not unusual for exes to idealise a past relationship, especially when they’ve been through difficult times since.
