Lauren Alaina Says She Wants to Host 'American Idol' (Exclusive)

Lauren Alaina, who competed on 'American Idol' season 10, tells ET that she'd rather host than judge the singing competition.

ET's Nischelle Turner and Rachel Smith spoke with the 29-year-old country music star -- who broke out after finishing as the runner-up on Idol's 10th season -- at Nashville's Chevy Riverfront Stage ahead of her CMA Fest performance on Thursday. For now, Alaina is focused on her own music -- agreeing that she's in her "happy girl era" after tying the knot with husband Cam Arnold in February. And now, she's ready to party with her country music family at CMA Fest, the annual fan experience in Nashville which features performances by the biggest names in the genre.
