Latest snow maps show when and where in the UK it is set to tumble

The UK is set to be blanketed in snow during early January, with a snow depth map showing the parts of the country that will be worst affected by the chilly weather in 2025

The mild spell we enjoyed over Christmas is set to end as we head into 2025, with early January seeing parts of the UK facing a covering of snow. The HRES model, which forecasts possible weather events 10 days ahead, predicts between 24cm to 80cm of snow falling in the Highlands and western Scotland on 6 January. Snow is predicted to fall across Northern Ireland, Wales and western England from midnight on Monday, 6 January before sweeping across the country.
