Larry David is one of the biggest names in American comedy, but it took him many years — and several odd jobs — to get to that point. After enlisting in the Army Reserves for five years following college, David got his big break when he joined ABC’s late-night comedy show, Fridays, as a writer and cast member in 1980. In December 2023, David announced that the Golden Globe–winning show would be coming to an end with its 12th season, which premiered in February.
