Larry David paid psychiatrist to write him a letter to get out of Army Reserve

'The letter basically said that I was crazy': Larry David gets candid about how he convinced the Army Reserve that he was not mentally fit to serve. See an exclusive clip of the story from the next 'Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.'

He even went through basic training and did occupational specialty school, telling the host that he was technically a "petroleum storage specialist." There was also a two-week summer camp, and it was there that the Curb Your Enthusiasm star learned about a "psychiatrist who was writing letters for like $250" to help declare service members unfit for duty. David explained that once he had the letter, he caused a scene with a bunch of fellow Reserve members watching, prompting a meeting with his major.
