Lana cut a summery figure in an off-white miniskirt with a touch of lace trim, teamed with a fitted t-shirt that emphasized her slender frame. The awards show, which honors songwriting talent, is named after the popular British entertainer Ivor Novello who delighted audiences in the early 20th century with such numbers as the World War I hit Keep The Home Fires Burning. During her awards show speech, Lana reflected on the rise of violence in relationships and looked back on her own history of writing songs about her love life.
