LAist’s Southern California Public Radio Taps Univision’s Alejandra Santamaria as New President and CEO


Alejandra Santamaria has been named the new president /CEO of Southern California Public Radio, which oversees KPCC-FM ("LAist 89.3").

Santamaria takes over Southern California Public Radio at a difficult moment for the pubcaster, which recently cut its staff by 28 people — including 21 voluntary buyouts and another seven layoffs. “My career has been aligned with a media organization that has meant a lot to me because of their mission to empower, educate and inform Latinos like my own family. She is the founding member of Univision’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC), and has served on the boards of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the L.A. County Economic Development Corporation.
