As Lady Gaga strutted out and shimmied in a shimmering flapper-like ensemble, complete with a magnificent lob and feather coat, the chart-topping artist — tonight pulling double-duty as musical guest and host of Saturday Night Live — had no trouble turning the joke on herself. In a breezy opening monologue clocking in just at typical radio fare length, the multi-Grammy Award winner quipped, “I know you might be thinking I’m here to promote my album, Mayhem, but I’m actually here to remind you I’m an amazing actor.” Naturally, she addressed Joker: Folie à Deux, poking fun by saying, “Apparently people thought it was awesome.”
