LA Mayor Karen Bass Silent & Stony-Faced As She Refuses To Answer Sky News Questions About Wildfires During Awkward Airport Confrontation
LA Mayor Karen Bass declined to answer wildfire questions from the UK's Sky News during an airport confrontation on her return to country.
Bass was returning to both a literal and political firestorm after she stepped off a plane following a controversial trip to Ghana to attend the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama. Bass was cornered by the camera as she waited to exit the airport building and, during an awkward moment in which she was pursued by Blevins, she was ushered to another door. Gavin Newsom, remarking on the “staggering” scale of the disaster, which has leveled 2,000 structures in LA, including the homes of Hollywood stars Billy Crystal, Adam Brody, and Mandy Moore.
