Kurt Russell and Son Wyatt’s Show ‘Monarch’ Didn’t ‘Turn Out the Way They Wanted It To’


Kurt Russell and son Wyatt poured their hearts into Monarch but 'nobody cared' about the TV show 'and few people watched' it, a source exclusively tells Closer.

Kurt and Wyatt — who are part of the main cast alongside actors Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski — have “high episodic fees and long-term contracts,” the source reveals. Eric Charbonneau/Getty Images for Apple TV+However, the source shares, “now both sides of that negotiation wished things had turned out a little better for the series, which had to juggle expensive special effects and writers without a lot of TV experience among other challenges.” According to the source, “[Meredith] is having a nice run on Bad Monkey, and Kurt and Goldie have evolved into genuine fans of her as an artist, but there’s always been this ‘home wrecker’ label hanging over her head because she and Wyatt met on the set of a movie while he was still married to Sanne.”
