KTLA Weather Man Mark Kriski Suffers Stroke Just Days After On-Air Pal Sam Rubin’s Death

The tight-nit crew at KTLA got some more tough news this week with the revelation that the station's longtime weatherman, Mark Kriski, had suffered a mild stroke.

In a post to social media KTLA said Kriski’s stroke had happened earlier this week, but noted that “he’s in good spirits…and looks forward to being back with the team soon.” He joined the KTLA Morning News in 1991 and, according to his official bio, is “one of the last-remaining original ‘characters’ from the show’s inception.” He is a nine-time Emmy winner, has appeared as a newscaster or weatherman in Speed and Speed 2 and on shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 7th Heaven and Everybody Hates Chris. He also announces boxing & MMA fights for the likes of Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
