Stewart has spent the last several years struggling to get financing for her feature directorial debut, “The Chronology of Water.” She told Variety earlier this year ahead of the Sundance Film Festival that she’s no longer interested in taking new acting projects until she gets her directorial effort off the ground. The movie is an adaptation of Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir of the same name and has had Imogen Poots attached to star in the lead role for a few years. “My movie is about incest and periods and a woman violently repossessing her voice and body, and it is, at times, hard to watch… but it’s gonna be a fucking thrill ride,” Stewart said.
