Korea Box Office: ‘Pilot’ Flies to Second Weekend Win, Lands $20 Million Total


At the South Korean box office, local comedy 'Pilot' earned its second weekend chart victory.

Data from Kobis, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council (Kofic) showed the title with a 46% share of the market over the Friday-Sunday period. Korean produced kids animation film “Heartspring: Teenieping of Love” took second spot on its opening weekend, with $1.74 million. Traditionally the period is a strong one boosted by Korean audiences heading to the cinemas for the comfort of air conditioning and the chills brought on by horror movies.
