Korea Box Office: ‘Inside Out 2’ Wins Fifth Weekend, Fends Off ‘Project Silence’


At the top of the South Korean box office, ‘Inside Out 2’ held on for a fifth weekend win, ahead of Korean disaster-action film ‘Project Silence’.

“Inside Out 2” scored $3.53 million between Friday and Sunday with a 30% market share, according to data from Kobis, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council (Kofic). Directed and co-written by Kim Tae-gon, “Project Silence” takes a road bridge near Incheon Airport as the setting for a chain reaction of accidents, explosions and mayhem. Japanese animation and games derivative “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era” took $79,500 between Friday and Sunday.
