Kirstie Allsopp criticises social services investigation after son's interrailing trip

TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp has said that she does not think she would have been reported to social services for letting her 15 year old son go on a trip abroad if she had "been an ordinary member of the public"

TV star Kirstie Allsopp has spoken out, saying she believes she wouldn't have been reported to social services for allowing her 15 year old son to travel abroad if she were "an ordinary member of the public". Allsopp has shared her mixed feelings about the reaction to her post revealing her son Oscar's interrailing trip across Europe for his GCSE celebration, describing it as "extraordinary." She also said: "We have to let our children be mentally and physically happy and healthy, and wrapping them in cotton wool and stopping them going places and filling them with fear about the world will not make them happier and will not safeguard them."
