BBC Mastermind host Clive Myrie has reported from several war zones over the years and was at the forefront of the BBC's coverage at the start of the Ukraine conflict

Mastermind host and BBC News presenter Clive Myrie has shared a funny memory with King Charles, who recognised him for his daring reports from Ukraine. While appearing on the 'Desert Island Discs' podcast, hosted by Lauren Laverne, Clive disclosed a warm encounter with the monarch at a gathering following the start of the Ukraine conflict. After reporting from numerous war zones, including Iraq, Clive was a key player in the BBC's coverage during the early days of the Ukrainian crisis; and he became known for his live broadcasts from a rooftop in Kyiv.
