King Charles' neighbours complain over 'absolute nightmare' near Highgrove


Locals have complained of an 'absolute nightmare' as they do battle with tourists over parking near Highgrove, where King Charles spends much of the summer.

John Evans, an 87-year-old local, told The Telegraph about a recent incident where a coach full of tourists from Germany struggled to find parkin gdue to a lack of provision for large vehicles. Permit prices in the town are soaring – actually double those in some of London’s poshest areas, with top emission vehicles forking out £257 in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and a hefty £321 in Westminster. The gardens at Highgrove are open between April and October (Image: Chris Jackson, Getty Images)Laura Hall-Wilson, Conservative councillor for Tetbury with Upton on Cotswold District Council, told Cambridgeshire Live: "I was contacted by concerned residents not long after my election on parking specifically in West Street and I met with some of those residents and concerned businesses and committed to looking into how we can resolve the issue to better accommodate everyone who needs to park in Tetbury."
