King Charles' Christmas speech first look as monarch makes major change
King Charles has broken with tradition in a major way after he recorded his 2024 Christmas message to the nation at a chapel in central London
He continued: "Over this past year my heart has been warmed by countless examples of the imaginative ways in which people are caring for one another - going the extra mile to help those around them simply because they know it is the right thing to do: at work and at home; within and across communities. Choosing a location outside of a royal palace is not a first for the King as Queen Elizabeth II gave her 2006 speech from Southwark Cathedral after Her Late Majesty had met with schoolchildren working on the Nativity.
