King Charles' brilliant response to fan who asked if he wanted to go for a pint
King Charles was once asked if he fancied going to the pub for a pint by a local man as he chatted with well-wishers in Birmingham during a visit in August 2022
He was in Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games and was mingling with fans in Victoria Square when local, Daniel Walker, strolled by on his way to meet his mates at the pub, and decided to extend an invitation to Charles. Daniel recounted: "I walked around and I could see his security guard wanted to speak to me," and continued, "I introduced myself and he said if you hang out here you can chat to him. Just a month later, his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton addressed the world in an Instagram video as she too revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer, after undergoing "planned abdominal surgery" in January.
