King Charles III's Red Portrait Draws Fierce Criticism From Some Fans

A newly unveiled red portrait of King Charles is not getting everyone's approval.

The artwork by artist Jonathan Yeo -- who has produced portraits of Prince Philip and Queen Camilla in the past -- depicts the sovereign in mostly shades of red as he dons the uniform of the Welsh Guards. When I started this project, His Majesty The King was still His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, and much like the butterfly I've painted hovering over his shoulder, this portrait has evolved as the subject's role in our public life has transformed," Yeo said in a statement. The artist and his final product are facing fierce criticism from some, who did not mince words as they reacted to the bold artwork through comments on Instagram.
