King Charles honours Kate Middleton with special new title – amid cancer treatment

Kate Middleton has been honoured with a prestigious appointment by the King for her exemplary public service and dedication to the arts, Buckingham Palace revealed

The Order of the Companions of Honour, founded by King George V in 1917, is a prestigious institution limited to just 65 members at a time, recognising outstanding achievements in various fields, including the arts, sciences, medicine, and public service. The theatre impresario, whose hit musicals include The Phantom Of The Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is now a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. Founded in 1348, the Order of the Garter honours individuals for their outstanding public service and achievements, and the annual ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor is a colourful display of tradition and pageantry watched by spectators from around the world.
