King Charles 'sent car on 1,000-mile round trip' to collect favourite bathroom item

After the King's 'favourite' bathroom item was accidentally left behind in Highgrove House, a staff member was sent on a 500-mile trip down from Balmoral to collect it and bring it all the way back

There are some 500 staff across the numerous royal residences, and part of their job is to make sure that everything is kept up to the King's notoriously "high standards." The King's desk, for example, will be duplicated at each of his numerous residences, with pens, stationery and paperwork laid out in exactly the same order so that each item can bee found immediately. The iconic, 775-room central London building is in a very poor state of repair and His Majesty prefers to use it as an office and generally stays just down the road at Clarence House if he's in the capital overnight.
