King Charles 'follows in Queen's footsteps' 70 years after historic act


King Charles has landed in Australia for a six-day official visit, and during his the six-day trip Down Under he is set to take a leaf out of his late mother's book

Posting to X (formerly Twitter), the official Royal Family account paid homage to Her Majesty while outlining Charles' plans for his visit. Queen Elizabeth II's visit in 1954 was indeed a significant event, marking the first time a reigning British monarch had set foot in Australia. Buckingham Palace has confirmed the monarch will speak to community and political leaders at the event amidst Australian media calling the premiers' absences an "insult" to the Royal couple.
