'Succession' and 'A Real Pain' star Kieran Culkin says his mom once asked why he and brother Macaulay were 'always offered' dysfunctional family roles, then reasoned, 'What's a functional family?'

Each of the acting Culkins have starred in their fair share of dysfunctional family projects, ranging across the genre spectrum from comedy to drama to horror. Recently, Culkin starred in a breakout role in Succession, one of TV's most ferocious dysfunctional family dramas, and now appears in A Real Pain as the unruly cousin to Jesse Eisenberg. Macaulay, Rory, Christian, and Shane Culkin all lent their voices to an episode of Kieran's animated Prime Video series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, the first time the five brothers have ever co-starred alongside one another.
