Kid Rock Talks Up Donald Trump’s Dinner With Bill Maher: “Everyone Was So Surprised, So Pleasant”
The singer helped arrange the meeting.
The dinner took place at the White House on Monday evening, after the singer appeared in the Oval Office for an event to sign an executive order addressing inflated concert ticket resale prices. He said that he saw the visit as Trump “extending this olive branch.” Kid Rock also said that he thought that Maher had never been to the White House, but the comedian interviewed Barack Obama in the Roosevelt Room in 2016. Trump famously sued Maher after he joked that he would give $5 million to charity if he could prove that he was not “the spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” The lawsuit was later dropped.
