In a series of posts to his X on Friday (Nov. 22), Khalid officially came out as gay, simply posting a rainbow flag emoji and asking his fans to move on to the “next topic please lol.” When another user followed up for clarification, Khalid confirmed he identified as gay, writing “and that’s okay.” As reported by Rolling Stone, the outing that Khalid referred to came from a series of since-deleted tweets from X user and recording artist Hugo Almonte. After writing that a “gay R&B singer” had once “tried to set me up and lie that I broke into his house,” Almonte shared a since-deleted photo of himself and Khalid.
