Based on true events, a thriller about a serial rapist and killer targeting women in Northern Spain during the Carlist Wars, 20 years before Jack the Ripper haunted the streets of London. From the director of “Sex and Lucia,” this romantic period drama stars recent breakouts Javier Rey (“Fariña”) and Ana Rujas (“La Mesías”) in a narrative that starts during the Spanish Civil War and sprawls across 8 decades. From San Sebastián winner Rebollo, at the turn of the 20th century, adventurer and Lumière Brothers’ cameraman Gabriel Veyre lands in the Pays de Nour on a three-month contract to introduce the Venerable Sultan to the mysteries of cinematography.
