Kevin Costner Had Morphine Drip to Film ‘Hidden Figures’: 'I Wanted to Cry'

Kevin Costner felt like crying on the set of 2016’s ‘Hidden Figures’ while he battled kidney stones

“I’ve never missed a day of work [in my entire career] and then when I thought I was gonna be off [the IV drip], a second kidney stone came — which I never had — and I was right back on it,” he recalled to the outlet. Costner portrayed Al Harrison in Hidden Figures, a film about three Black women ( Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson) who worked for NASA on astronaut John Glenn’s journey to space. Kevin Costner has garnered critical acclaim as both an actor and a director, but he’s faced his fair share of personal hardships.
