Kensington Palace issues rare statement in defence of Kate after fashion controversy
Kensington Palace has issued a statement following reports that Kate Middleton was 'frustrated' by the focus on her fashion rather than her work
It was recently reported by The Times that the Palace would cease sharing details about Kate's outfits during Royal events, as the Princess prefers attention on her work rather than her attire. Back in 2022, a close friend of the Princess opened up to the Sunday Times, expressing Kate's frustration when her fashion choices overshadowed her charitable work, saying: "When she goes to the Bond premiere or is at Trooping the Colour, of course she puts on the 'uniform' of the role. Bethan Holt, fashion director at the Daily Telegraph, told PEOPLE magazine: "I think it marks a new era in her royal life," adding, "It shows her confidence is growing and that she's willing to take more risks and do something that might not have come naturally to her."
