Kenneth Mitchell, Star Trek and Captain Marvel actor, dies aged 49
Canadian actor who played several Star Trek characters died after complications from ALS, according to a statement on Instagram
“With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend to many,” the statement said. With an average of 5,000 people diagnosed every year in the US, ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms include difficulty walking, slurred speech as well as muscle weakness which eventually impacts chewing, swallowing, speaking and breathing.
