Kendrick Lamar Announces Los Angeles ‘Ken and Friends’ Concert for Juneteenth
Kendrick Lamar will host 'The Pop Out — Ken and Friends' concerts in Los Angeles on Juneteenth.
The show, set for the Kia Forum and produced by pgLang and Free Lunch, is entitled The Pop Out — Ken and Friends and will kick off at 4 p.m. on June 19. The rapper shared the news of the event on social media, but has yet to reveal the full line-up (we can safely assume it will not include Drake). The name of the concert, “The Pop Out,” is a reference to a lyric from Lamar’s recent hit single “Not Like Us,” which sees him rapping, “Sometimes you gotta pop out and show n—s/ Certified boogeyman, I’m the one that up the score with ’em.” It’s the same track that takes aim at Drake with the verse, “Say Drake, I hear you like ‘em young/ You better not have to go to Cell Block One/ To any bitch that talk to him and they in love/ Just make sure you hide your little sister from him.”
