Kenan Thompson warned voters about the provisions in Project 2025 during Night 3 of the Democratic National Convention

“You ever seen a document that could kill a small animal and democracy at the same time?” the Saturday Night Live comedian asked from the stage, holding a massive bound version of the plan composed by a group of Republicans that is said to be a blueprint for Donald Trump’s possible second term. “On page 584, Project 2025 calls for the elimination of protections for LGBTQ+ Americans,” Thompson tells a woman named Becky, who says she’s been married to her wife for about eight years. Thompson also points to provisions in Project 2025 that seek to raise prices on prescription medication, ban abortion nationwide, eliminating the Department of Education, and more.
