After Kelsey Parker's husband Tom was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2020, at just 32, his bandmates from The Wanted rallied round to support her.

So close were the pair that at Tom’s funeral in April 2022, it was Max who gave a heart-wrenching eulogy, prompting both tears and laughter from mourners including grief-stricken Kelsey – who had become a widow at the age of 31. Before he underwent a two-and-a-half-hour heart operation to fit a pacemaker in December, he begged surgeons to avoid his chest tattoo of Tom’s date of birth.
