During the Kellyoke segment, Clarkson performed the song with an edge of southern twang, using her Texas roots to lean further into the pre-existing country structure of the record. Carpenter also appeared as a guest on the show back in 2020, where she revealed that her first-ever concert was when she attended Clarkson’s Breakaway tour in the early 2000s. In February, Clarkson put a spin on “Feather,” the final single Carpenter shared from her album Emails I Can’t Send, before launching into the Short n’ Sweet era with “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”
