Keke Palmer To Star In ‘The ‘Burbs’ Peacock Series Remake Of Cult Movie With Seth MacFarlane & Brian Grazer As EPs

Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to The ‘Burbs, a series adaptation of the 1989 Universal Pictures horror-comedy film of the same name.

Their world is upended when new neighbors move in next door, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood. The film, which stars Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher as the couple, along with Bruce Dern and Corey Feldman, has achieved a cult status after an inauspicious box-office start. Mystery comedies are having a moment with hits such as Hulu’s Only Murder In the Building and Peacock’s own Poker Face and Based On a True Story.
