Keira Knightley: ‘Turning 40? It looks rather great’
After becoming a household name at 17, the actress took a break to raise her children. Now, back with a Netflix thriller, she says there’s still so much she wants to do
Still only 39, she has already had a long and varied career: a life-changing franchise (three Pirates of the Caribbean films), Oscar-nominated roles ( Pride & Prejudice in 2005 and The Imitation Game in 2014), period dramas ( Colette, 2018) and quirky indies ( Last Night, 2010). Knightley, who is looking every inch a glamorous operative in an Erdem suit and Church’s brogues, with her hair slicked back, enjoyed exploring the idea that we all have different sides to us that we suppress at different times. Currently filming alongside Guy Pearce and Hannah Waddingham on another Netflix thriller, The Woman in Cabin 10 — a whodunnit on a cruise ship — she is hungry for fun projects but also takes breaks when she feels like it.
