Katy Perry to Receive Video Vanguard Award, Perform Hits Medley on MTV VMAs
The MTV Video Music Awards will give Katy Perry the Video Vanguard Award, and the singer will perform a hits medley on the show.
The network announced earlier this week that the 2024 MTV VMAs were being pushed back by one day, with the understanding that it was to avoid a conflict with the presidential debate that was recently confirmed for Sept. 10. Besides Perry, the artists who’ve been announced as performing on the show so far this year are Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, GloRilla and Rauw Alejandro. Taylor Swift leads this year’s nominees with 10, followed by Post Malone with nine; Ariana Grande, Eminem and Carpenter with six; Megan Thee Stallion and SZA with five; and Olivia Rodrigo, Lisa and Teddy Swims with four each.
