Katie Holmes stepped out while gearing up for her role in the Broadway revival of the Thornton Wilder's play Our Town, with the premiere performance set for September 17.

Now officially an empty nester, the Dawson's Creek alum stepped out to take care of some business while out and about in a gray A.P.C sweater that also had autumn colors of brown and red mixed in. Through its three acts — Daily Life, Love and Marriage, and Death and Eternity — the play dives into the passage of time, the significance of ordinary moments, and the universal experiences of being human. The proud mom helped take her to Pittsburgh for the traditional dorm room move in and ahead of the start of her freshman year, all while her father, Tom Cruise, was living large in London, England, according to Page Six.
