Kathy McGee to Receive WGA East’s 2025 Richard B. Jablow Award


The Writers Guild of America East will present Kathy McGee with the Richard B. Jablow Award for Devoted Service to the Guild at Writers Guild Awards

A member of the WGAE since 1997, McGee writes stories on theater and cultural arts for WCBS-TV’s 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts. “I began my broadcast news career nearly 40 years ago and am proud to have spent the last two decades in solidarity with members of the WGA East advocating for journalists and storytellers while encouraging the next generation of union leaders,” McGee said. WGA East president Lisa Takeuchi Cullen added: “I can think of no one more deserving of the Jablow Award than my friend and colleague Kathy McGee.
