Griffin noted that, after cohosting close to 30 times while fielding a potential offer to join the Hot Topics table as a permanent panelist in the mid-2000s, she instructed her team to make a move on securing the gig. Later, when she returned to the show after making her decision to decline the offer, Griffin said she wanted to wait to inform Walters until they were together in person.
