Katherine Schwarzenegger Shades Anna Wintour’s Met Gala
Katherine Schwarzenegger shared a photo of her mother, Maria Shriver, at a past Met Gala, on Instagram, writing that the event used to be “chic and classy.”
Although the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala fundraiser has been happening since 1948, it wasn't until Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour took over in the 1990s that the event became the Super Bowl of fashion. Wintour hand-picked her 2024 co-hosts Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Zendaya, who opened the green carpet in Maison Margiela and then shut it down in a second dress from Givenchy’s archives. The accompanying exhibit features more than 100 garments from designers including Elsa Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy and more.
