Kate Hudson's estranged father Bill Hudson, 74, says their family rift is finally 'healing' as they refuse to 'rehash the past'

Both Kate and Oliver have spoken candidly about feeling abandoned by Bill as kids and how they consider mom Goldie Hawn's longtime partner Kurt Russell their 'dad.'

After nearly a lifetime of estrangement from her biological father, Kate shocked fans last month when she revealed on CBS Sunday Morning that although she doesn't have much of a relationship with Bill, things are 'warming up.' Not long after her parents finalized their divorce two years later, in 1982, Hawn started dating actor Kurt Russell, which ultimately gave Kate and Oliver a dad that they could both depend on on an everyday basis. In an interview on The Howard Stern Show in 2016 the Glass Onion actress claimed her mother 'never spoke poorly' of her biological father, and that even as a little girl, she understood that her dad leaving the family 'didn't have to do with me and Oliver.'
