Kate told co-hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley that Derek - who died of COVID-19 complications, four years after contracting the respiratory illness - requested they film the third documentary as he 'wanted his voice to be heard', and he felt like a 'failure and a burden' on his loved ones due to the extent of his care. 'By allowing intimate access, Draper and his wife, the journalist and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway, pointedly highlight the difficulties of people living with serious long-term illnesses.'
