Kate Beckinsale is spotted for the first time after bashing BAFTA for the 'cold' and 'distressing' message she received following stepfather Roy Battersby's death

Kate Beckinsale was spotted in public for the first time since lambasting the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for what she called a 'cold' and 'heartless' email regarding her step-father.

After initially being told Battersby, who passed at the age of 87, might not make it into the annual BAFTA In Memoriam tribute, the influencer announced on social media that the widely respected director would be honored for his contribution to the film and television industry. 'In lieu of an apology which is now redundant,' she wrote on social media, 'I would like a public and permanent assurance that BAFTA make a major change to their policy of wording emails to anyone who has been bereaved; whether that person is a DP, a sound or vVFX technician, costume department, editor, electrician, grip or carpenter, let alone someone honoured in the way Roy had been.' The actress' long blonde hair was styled in a high pony tail with a 50s kind of curl, accessorized with a large black bow.
