Kaouther Ben Hania, Kevin Macdonald & Guy Myhill Among Filmmakers Set For Second Edition Of Beta And Series Mania’s Seriesmakers
The three winning projects will be announced on March 20 in Lille during Series Mania Forum.
The lab is run in collaboration with Beta, and this year features projects helmed by directors including Kaouther Ben Hania, who directed the Oscar-nominated doc Four Daughters, and Kevin Macdonald, best known for The Mauritanian. Mikko Myllylahti’s THE WOODCUTTER STORY (2022) won the Gan Foundation Award for Distribution and was nominated for Critics’ Week Grand Prize at Cannes Film Festival. He grows politically, falls in love across the race line and learns firsthand that his biggest battle is not against Nazi Germany, but the pervasive brutality and bigotry of the United States Army.
