Kansas City Fires Social Media Team Member Over Harrison Butker Tweet
The City of Kansas City fired an employee who tweeted about where Harrison Butker lives after his commencement speech went viral
(The former employee tweeted, “Just a reminder that Harrison Butker lives in the City of Lee’s Summit,” on May 15 after the NFL player’s commencement address about women needing to become homemakers made waves on social media.) The original tweet also caught the attention of Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who wrote via X on May 16, “My office is demanding accountability after @KansasCity doxxed @buttkicker7 last night for daring to express his religious beliefs. “Growing up my mom was my biggest supporter, guiding me to be the man I needed to become,” Harrison wrote in a May 2020 Mother’s Day tribute shared via X by the Kansas City Chiefs.
