Kamila Andini’s ‘Four Seasons in Java,’ Riri Riza’s ‘Cubs’ Adorn Slate of Indonesian Indie Producer Forka Films (EXCLUSIVE)

Indonesian indie Ifa Isfansyah's Forks Films unveils a powerful production slate at Busan.

Andini, who was in Busan last year as director of the Netflix-backed mini-series “The Cigarette Girl,” is preparing “Four Seasons in Java,” a moving exploration of a sexual assault survivor’s journey to redefine home and family. Also on the horizon is “Cubs,” a hard-hitting teenage drama directed by Riri Riza (“Emma,” “Humba Dreams”) which is set in a corrupt gold-mining town and delves into the complex moral struggles of a young boy. It is preparing “The Period of Her,” an anthology film project directed by four of Indonesia’s most promising young female directors: Erlina Rakhmawati, Praditha Blifa, Sarah Fadilah, and Yulinda Dwi Andriyani.
