The Kamala Harris campaign has distanced itself from the controversy surrounding her “ 60 Minutes ” interview after Donald Trump demanded the network apologize for airing two different versions of the Vice President’s response to a question. In a teaser clip released online, which also aired on “Face the Nation” on Oct. 6, Harris provided a lengthy response to “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker’s question about whether the U.S. lacks influence over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Now the work that we do diplomatically with the leadership of Israel is an ongoing pursuit around making clear our principles, which include the need for humanitarian aid, the need for this war to end, the need for a deal to be done which would release the hostages and create a ceasefire.
